Building a Product Business
Megan Pollock, the owner of Second Scout, is a busy mom who just wanted to make one area of her life easier. After Megan created a product that worked for her kids, she launched Second Scout to help other busy parents do the same. Second Scout is a children’s brand designed to reduce morning tantrums and create a routine for the littles.
The Ups and Downs
Unfortunately, launching and maintaining Second Scout hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows. In January of 2023, the factory that made her products shut down without warning. This left Megan at a crossroads because she loved her business, but it took months for her to find this good supply chain.
After a few months of looking for a new manufacturer and almost giving up hope, Megan got a message from one of her customers saying how much they loved her products. This kickstarted Megan’s hope to find a new supply chain which led to her finding an even better one and a backup.
