What Retailers Want Brands To Know

Now this could just be me, but after working with both Retailers and Wholesalers for years I think there are a few things that are misunderstood between each other. And as a former Bricks n Mortar Retailer myself, there are some things I wished my wholesalers knew. Building connections with my wholesalers was so important to me because it led to a long-term relationships. Here are just a few of the things I wanted the wholesalers I worked with to know:

  • Retailers provide exposure to hundreds of customers, so the right fit and margin are crucial.
  • Retailers receive a lot of emails, so keep it simple, provide easy online access, and support them with imagery and information.
  • Assisting retailers by swapping out slow-selling stock can help improve their cash flow and build a long-term relationship.
  • Prompt delivery after payment, clear communication about delivery times, and addressing any issues are essential for retailers.
  • Providing support, point of sale materials, and staff training can enhance the retailer’s ability to sell the products effectively.
  • Making the reordering process easy and providing stock information can facilitate repeat orders and improve the retailer’s experience.
  • Emphasizing the importance of ongoing communication, mutual support, and understanding each other’s positions for a successful retailer-brand relationship.
Encouraging brands to offer unique experiences to retailers and collaborate on creative ways to support and promote products in retail spaces.

As well as so much more. Tune in to the episode to hear more detail.
